Cinema multiplexes hit their stride in the 80s and 90s, and whether it was the ethereal sounds of Spielberg’s ET at Adelaide’s Hindley Street cinema, or the thriving synth of the Flashdance soundtrack at Sydney’s George Street theatre, it was Krix speakers behind it all. It’s now been 50 years since Scott Krix sold his first speakers, but the story remains the same. Scott and his band of brothers, engineers and designers, continue to innovate, creating Australian made and manufactured speakers for people who want to go from simply listening, to experiencing, sound.

Krix MX40
If you are looking for the ultimate in-wall speakers, this could be it. The MX-40 is the flagship system of the Series MX range. Featuring a 3-way design, it is capable of immense sound pressure levels while maintaining the absolute highest level of soundtrack reproduction.

The MX-40 screen speaker system is the first in the Series MX range to incorporate a 3-way design – delivering an incredibly smooth, consistent and compelling experience that encompasses the true dynamic power and clarity of real cinema sound.
Much like the MX-30, the MX-40 is best suited to larger home cinemas that are five to fourteen metres in depth. The new 3-way design features a dedicated high frequency compression driver and newly engineered 152mm midrange driver, both coupled to a brand new single-mould, dual-horn system that has been developed by Krix over three years. Principle benefits of the horn are a uniform, constant directivity pattern, improved frequency response and extremely low distortion, even when pushed to extreme sound pressure levels.
The 380mm bass drivers are made from a high stiffness paper cone, with a 75mm voice coil for increased linear excursion and a powerful vented magnet assembly lowers distortion.
Each of the two subwoofers contain a 455mm driver with 100mm voice coil, dual spider and vented magnet assembly for clean, tight and powerful bass that you’ll hear… and feel.
The MX-40 is the first Series MX system that is bi-ampable and incorporates two pairs of binding posts per speaker module. The patterned acoustic material on the front baffle gives the unit a refined style and increases the overall surface area of absorption.

Krix MX30
Designed for larger dedicated home cinemas with an acoustically transparent screen, the MX-30 will deliver your favourite movie soundtracks with supreme definition and accuracy, right through the picture and into your seat. Larger bass drivers and compression high frequency drivers provide an extended frequency response at higher sound pressure levels.
Featuring commercial cinema components, the Krix MX-30 provides a crisp, clear, realistic sound, with such power and precision it will make your hair stand on end.
Created for larger home cinemas measuring five to fourteen metres long, the MX-30 features five modules, all of which are the same height and slim-line depth for easy installation into one cavity. The front baffle of each module is covered with an acoustic absorbent material to absorb any sound reflecting off the back of the screen or the room itself. This assists greatly with the acoustic treatment of the room to ensure better intelligibility and overall sound performance.
The main speakers utilise a single 380mm, high stiffness, paper cone mid-bass driver with a 75mm voice coil for increased linear excursion, and a powerful vented magnet assembly designed to lower distortion. You’ll hear a pin drop and a booming soundtrack crescendo with equal clarity.
High frequencies are handled by the Krix patented 90 by 40 degree short throw horn, driven by a high frequency compression driver. Each subwoofer also contains a massive 455mm driver with 100mm voice coil, dual spider and vented magnet assembly.
