Iconic American speaker maker Klipsch has unleashed an entirely new line of passive loudspeakers at CES 2015. Dubbed Reference Premiere, the new speakers were designed from the ground up to deliver a high performance home theater system. Everything the Klipsch home theater system identifies itself with, including “low distortion, high efficiency, flat frequency response, broad dynamic range and controlled directivity,” according to the company. Klipsch is known for audio products that deliver an incredible amount of performance and quality at a reasonable price.
Klipsch RP-280F
Floorstanding speakers (150W/600W), each with dual 8" woofers and a single horn-loaded tweeter. Each Klipsch RP-280F speaker's tweeter includes a technology called Linear Travel Suspension, which minimizes distortion for more detailed performance, as well as a proprietary horn called Tractrix Horn, which is specially designed to maximize high-frequency output without the hiss. The spun-copper subwoofers offer additional clarity over a balanced frequency response, making for a highly efficient overall speaker system. Klipsch’s Titanium tweeters loaded into a newly designed 90 x 90-degree Tractrix horn enclosure which has been outfitted with a rubbery silicone finish that the company says eliminates horn resonances, resulting in a cleaner sound with better resolution and detail. Below the tweeters sit Klipsch’s iconic copper-toned cerametallic woofers, which, like the tweeters, are designed to be extremely sensitive.
High-tech woofer design
The RP-280F's Cerametallic™ woofers dish out smooth midrange and articulate, well-defined bass. Klipsch makes its cones out of specially treated aluminum that's strong yet lightweight to dampen and prevent distortion. With the Reference Premiere Series, Klipsch also gave these woofers a newly developed titanium voice coil former that allows more linear movement for enhanced efficiency, lower distortion, and extended low frequency response.

Klipsch R-115SW Subwoofer
15 inch subwoofer
Deep bass impact that you can hear and feel
Whether it's an explosion or earthquake on a Hollywood soundtrack, crisply plucked notes from a bass guitar, or the subterranean tones of a large cathedral pipe organ, the Klipsch R-115SW lets you hear and feel those extremely low frequencies that add realism and energy to your movies and music. This subwoofer's high-output 400-watt amplifier pushes a 15" woofer made of a strong-yet-lightweight ceramic-coated aluminum for quick, precise movement, minimal distortion, and deep, bone-crushing bass even at concert-hall volume levels. The front slot port helps minimize turbulence for cleaner sound. And since the port is in the front, you won't hear unwanted "boominess" from sound reverberating off your walls and floor.
